Puumala strain has no documented human-to-human transmission. Strict isolation is not required but standard precautions apply.

FFP2 mask, gloves, 30-minute prior ventilation. Surface wetting before cleaning to prevent aerosolization of viral particles.

Sentinel surveillance network in endemic Länder (Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria). Mandatory reporting under IfSG §7.

Puumala strain causes generally mild forms (HFRS). Outpatient management with renal function monitoring. Hospitalization if acute renal failure.
